They can sometimes seem like they’re impossible to have.

Especially when you have to solve something specific, on a specific deadline.  Double jeopardy.  Unavoidable double jeopardy.

I have spent many a night, that has turned into a late night, and sometimes an early morning, staring at a blank pad.  Scribbling out badly conceived storyboards.  Typing away at a scene over and over again when I know at its core the scene doesn’t work.  Having a single creative problem to solve and trying to solve everything else but IT.

One night, after over a decade of this, I had a simple idea:  Go to bed.

I woke up the next morning, refreshed.  Got a nice cup of inspirational coffee and sat down to it again.  The solution came to me with little effort.

Since that night, I have employed this technique successfully for over 3 decades.  B**s##t you cry?  Try it…
